Sookio is delighted to be working with Cambridge charity Arts and Minds to offer strategic marketing support.

Established in 2008, Arts and Minds provides arts-based programmes to support the positive mental health of communities across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Our Founder Sue Keogh met Charity Director Louisa Thorman and instantly noticed a synergy between Arts and Minds and Sookio.

"Working with Arts and Minds really is a meeting of minds!” says Sue.

"Professionally, we have so much experience working with the charity, education and healthcare sectors. Personally, across the team we really care about the arts and understand the importance of good mental wellbeing, especially when so many in the community are still feeling thrown off course by pandemic times.

We're looking forward to drawing attention to their brilliant work and encouraging donations so they can have an even more powerful impact."

Louisa joined Arts and Minds in October 2023, having worked in education, local government and community settings for over 20 years.

As we begin the partnership, she shares: "Arts and Minds is delighted to partner with Sookio, who share our passion for creativity and are keen to support our mental health programmes within the local community.

“The scope and vision of our partnership is really exciting, and comes at a time when more people than ever are experiencing mental health issues, exacerbated by health poverty, recession, post-Covid recovery, education deprivation, and complex personal circumstances. Sookio really does live their values by giving their time and expertise to help our local charity make a huge impact!"

Kat Selby, our Digital Marketing Strategist, will be leading the project from Sookio’s side.

Kat’s a wellbeing advocate and occasionally runs mindfulness workshops, while publishing regular mental health and meditative content on LinkedIn. All this is shaped by Kat’s lived experience of anxiety, OCD, and mental health issues in her family having a significant ripple effect in recent years:

“Art has helped me through some challenging days, so I’ve seen first-hand the impact it can make - particularly when creating work in a group setting. Even if you’re not speaking much, just being together and creating something can help shift our mindset, increase confidence, and bring us out of intrusive thought patterns. Practices such as drawing with our non-dominant hand or looking away from the paper can be so freeing.”

How will Sookio be supporting Arts and Minds?

Over the coming weeks, our creative team will collaborate with Louisa on…

  • Defining a marketing and comms strategy
