Double success for Sookio in the Cambridgeshire Digital Awards 2017

Update 1 November 2017

We're delighted with our double success this year, sweeping awards in both the Best Blog and Best Use of Video for Business categories. Our blog is a showcase of everything we do at Sookio, a place to share our top tips and insights, so we're really pleased that our hard work has been recognised.

Charlotte's Compass is a video project unlike any other that we've completed at Sookio. It was an honour to be a part of the project, producing a series of eight poignant, funny and thought-provoking videos for actress Charlotte Peters. We're looking forward to adding the two awards to our mantelpiece alongside the gold we picked up last year for our website!

We're delighted to announce that we've been nominated for three awards at the Cambridgeshire Digital Awards 2017!

We're finalists in the category Best Use of Video for Business for the Charlotte's Compass project, and have two nominations in the Best Blog category, for our own blog and the supporting blog for Charlotte's Compass.

Our website was a gold winner at the Cambridgeshire Digital Awards 2016, in the Website: Marketing and creative category, and the previous year we picked up two silver awards

"It's great to be recognised by the Digital Awards for the third year running," says our Director, Sue Keogh. "The Charlotte's Compass project is very dear to our hearts, and our nomination for the Sookio blog reflects our conviction that knowledge is a thing to be shared."

About the Sookio blog

At Sookio we love digital content. We love creating it, we love helping others do it better, and we love sharing our knowledge. The blog is the place where we can explore topics relating to digital, social media, marketing and tech, and we try to write posts that offer very human insights - none of that jargon-filled generic nonsense for us, thanks.

We want to help other professionals make sense of changing digital trends - and show that we truly understand and care about quality content.

Whether it's a simple guide to GDPR, tips on hashtags and defeating trolls, or talking about Love Island and brand strategy, our straight-talking and SEO-friendly weekly posts are witty, lively and full of valuable advice.

The Charlotte's Compass project

The prisoner-turned-artist. The ex-soldier struggling with PTSD. The breast cancer survivor. These people are at the centre of Charlotte's Compass, a series of 8 short films and accompanying clips and blog posts we produced for actress Charlotte Peters in which she explored the human condition.

Travelling to Dublin, London, France and Ibiza, we set up, filmed and edited the interviews, producing short films which are moving, poignant, and funny. We worked with cameraman Colin Ramsay and editor/director James Uren - now roomies at the new Sookio HQ! - and a whole host of other talented film-making professionals (see the full credits here) to produce the project.

In the accompanying, highly visual blog we explored our eight themes in more depth, weaving in thoughts from Charlotte and making thought-provoking, shareable posts which show how others overcome challenges like blindness, bereavement and adoption - and how we find joy.
